Globalstar operates a low Earth orbit satellite constellation delivering mobile voice, data, and direct-to-device connectivity, integrating space-based infrastructure and ground systems to support commercial, industrial, and government communications applications. In April 2026 Amazon agreed to acquire Globalstar for about $11.6 billion and combine it with its Amazon Leo satellite business. The transaction is still under regulatory review, including at the FCC, and had not closed as of September 2026.
