Overview
Hughes Network Systems, a subsidiary of EchoStar, designs and operates satellite broadband systems, ground infrastructure, and secure communications networks for commercial, mobility, and government customers. In August 2026 Hughes filed for Chapter 11 reorganization to restructure its debt and announced layoffs, while continuing to operate and shifting its focus toward enterprise, government, and defense markets.
