Daher
French family-owned aerospace group that builds Kodiak turboprops in Sandpoint, Idaho and aerostructures in Stuart, Florida.
Overview
Daher is a French, family-controlled aerospace company that traces its history to 1863 and makes the TBM and Kodiak single-engine turboprops. In the United States it designs and assembles the Kodiak 100 and 900 in Sandpoint, Idaho, a business it bought from Quest Aircraft in 2019. Its Stuart, Florida plant, acquired in 2022, builds aerostructures for the Boeing 767, KC-46, and 777 and for Gulfstream, and is adding a TBM and Kodiak final assembly line. Daher also runs a TBM and Kodiak maintenance center in Pompano Beach, Florida, handles logistics for the Airbus assembly lines in Mobile, Alabama, and has its North American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. The company reports about 1,220 employees in North America.
Student Insights
A rare small-town aircraft factory
The Kodiak is designed and assembled in Sandpoint, Idaho, and Daher says about 65 percent of the aircraft is manufactured on site. For students in the inland Northwest it is one of very few places to build complete certified aircraft.
Florida has three different kinds of work
Stuart is a large aerostructures plant supplying Boeing and Gulfstream and is gaining a TBM/Kodiak assembly line; Pompano Beach services owner-flown turboprops; Fort Lauderdale is the regional head office.
Student programs are France-centered
Daher's student hub mainly describes French apprenticeships and the VIE international placement scheme. No U.S. internship program is described, so treat U.S. openings as regular job postings.
AI Outlook
Daher's U.S. sites focus on aircraft assembly, aerostructures, maintenance, and logistics.
