Cowboy Space Corporation

Building Stampede, a constellation of solar-powered orbital data centers for AI compute, along with its own rocket to launch them. Formerly Aetherflux.

Overview

Cowboy Space Corporation (rebranded from Aetherflux in May 2026) is developing Stampede, a planned constellation of solar-powered GPU data centers in low Earth orbit. Founded in 2024 by Robinhood co-founder Baiju Bhatt to beam space-based solar power to Earth, the company pivoted to using that orbital power for AI computing instead. Its design integrates a megawatt-class data center directly into a rocket's upper stage; each satellite is planned at 20,000 to 25,000 kilograms with roughly 800 GPUs. The company is standing up its own launch vehicle program, targeting a first launch before the end of 2028, and announced a $275 million Series B at a $2 billion valuation in May 2026.

AI Outlook

Adopting

Cowboy Space is building orbital infrastructure specifically to run AI workloads, making AI compute central to its business model, though the hardware is still in development.
