Overview
Canopy Aerospace & Defense develops and manufactures thermal protection systems, ceramics, composites, and other engineered materials for hypersonic, reentry, missile, and space applications. The company was formed in September 2025 when private equity firm Trive Capital combined Colorado startup Canopy Aerospace with manufacturers Hera Technologies and MSM Industries, and it has since added TODS Technology (UK) and Aviotec (Italy). It operates facilities in Colorado, California, Florida, and Texas, with research and development based in Littleton, Colorado.
