Bell
Textron's helicopter and tiltrotor maker in Fort Worth, Texas; builds the Bell 505, 407, 429 and 412, the V-22 with Boeing, and the Army's MV-75.
Overview
Bell is the rotorcraft business of Textron, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, with roots going back to Bell Aircraft in 1935. It builds commercial helicopters (Bell 505, 407, 429, 412, and the 525 in development) and military aircraft including the AH-1Z, UH-1Y, and the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor with Boeing. Its largest new program is the Bell MV-75, the tiltrotor selected for the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program and derived from the V-280 Valor demonstrator. Bell lists U.S. sites in Dallas/Fort Worth and Amarillo, Texas, Piney Flats/Johnson City, Tennessee, Wichita, Kansas, and Washington, D.C. It is a separate Textron business from Textron Aviation (Cessna and Beechcraft), which has its own directory entry.
Student Insights
Two routes for new graduates
Bell hires recent graduates directly into early-career roles, and it also feeds the Textron Leadership Development Program, a two-year rotational program that moves you across Textron businesses. Bell says most new graduates start in July or January.
Where the work is
Engineering and most manufacturing are in the Fort Worth area. Final assembly for the V-22, H-1, and 525 is in Amarillo, Texas, and Bell also lists internships in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
MV-75 is the long-running program to watch
The MV-75 is the Army's replacement for a large part of the Black Hawk fleet, so it is expected to drive Bell's engineering and production hiring for years. Military programs commonly limit some roles to U.S. persons; check each posting.
AI Outlook
Bell is primarily a rotorcraft design and manufacturing company; its uncrewed work includes the V-247 tiltrotor concept.
