Overview
Auriga Space is developing electromagnetic launch technology that uses ground-based acceleration systems powered by electricity rather than traditional chemical propellants. Alongside its long-term goal of lower-cost orbital launch for small satellites, the company now offers ground-based hypersonic test platforms and defense products, including Hermes, a containerized electromagnetic launcher for counter-drone missions that was first field-tested in 2026. In July 2026 it signed a research agreement with the U.S. Army to evaluate the technology for counter-UAS use.
